The Location - This apartment is centrally located which means our guests are ideally placed for the towns vibrant and lively atmosphere. The unit is positioned just metres back from the beautiful Shoal Bay Beach and literally just above an array of convenient shops, cafes and restaurants to choose from. With clear turquoise waters and white sands it is in a desired waterfront area and is the perfect holiday getaway.  Right on your door step you are spoilt with the energetic atmosphere of Shoal Bay, pristine beach offering great swimming and a chance to unwind and for the more adventurous type there are kayaks, stand up paddle boards (open everyday during the high seasons of school holidays, long weekends and Easter) and bicycles for hire.  There are secluded walking tracks through Tomaree National Park and spectacular views from the top of Tomaree Mountain, plus a selection of other surf beaches. Just a 5 minute drive (3 km) in the opposite direction brings you to Nelson Bay.

The Apartment - Refurnished and stylishly appointed throughout, this two bedroom air conditioned penthouse apartment offers breathtaking water views. The north east position on the eighth floor provides panoramic views over the whole of Shoal Bay from Tomaree Headland in the east to Nelson Point and the Inner Lighthouse to the west. Both bedrooms and the open plan living and dining area have uninterrupted views. The wrap around balcony has sliding door access from the combined living dining area and second bedroom. The master bedroom with king sized bed and ensuite is north facing to capture the bay and beach views.

There is a main bathroom and ensuite, and modern well equipped kitchen which provides guests with the option to prepare meals from this home away from home or to dine out at one of the three restaurants or enjoy a cold ale at the hotel located within the complex.

Other features include balcony furnishing, direct lift access to your apartment from the secure car space in the garage within the building, shared laundry facilties, and free Wi-Fi for guests.

Air Con didn't work and Rental Company ignoring calls and emails

The unit was not very clean, but the worst thing was that the advertised air conditioning did not work. I think the owners knew it didn't work as there were two cheap fans in the unit but these didn't help, plus, you can't charge for something that isn't there. Additionally there was black mould in the wardrobe of the second bedroom. The unit just hasn't been maintained and the managing company, Winning Holidays at Nelson Bay, are completely unresponsive.

Great Position and View

We gave this property 4 stars and would have given it 5 stars except for the state of cleanliness which we brought to the attention of the both property manager and the owner. This aspect is easily fixed so overall we would have no hesitation in recommending the property.

Great location and view!

Fantastic location, close to beach and shops, super quick lift. Areas for improvement - hallways weren't clean, no hand / body wash, shampoo / conditioner provided and this wasn't mentioned in the booking details. Also, noise from adjoining buildings' air conditioning units is quite loud through the night.

A short stay

Overall we g=had a good stay. Good apartment and great views. Didn't realise that basic toiletries were not provided and the pillows on the bed lacked substance and badly need replacing

Breath taking view!

Fabulous views, well equipped, lovely furnishing.

We loved staying in this unit. Fabulous views, well equipped, lovely furnishing. It suited us perfectly. On arrival we would have appreciated bit more detail about where to go to park our car. We arrived in the evening and drove round quite a bit before someone told us we had to go down the lane beside the Ramada Hotel to the car park. The steel drainer in the kitchen had dirt and rust in some of the joins and needs to be replaced. Overall this is a great place to stay and we look forward to returning to this unit again.

Great apartment, fantastic view

We recently stayed at this apartment at Shoal Bay. One never quite knows what to expect, but the apartment was fantastic, great views and everything within walking distance, eg coffee shops, restaurants and a fantastic ladies boutique. Loved it!!!

Beautiful view

As my parents are visiting from the UK I wanted to bring them somewhere with an amazing view where they could relax. This apartment did not disappoint. We loved our stay here and I would definitely recommend it. The shoal bay country club was right next door and was really convenient for dinner and drinks.

Expensive

Great location and lovely apartment. Expensive for what you get. We stayed, family of four and they didn’t provide any tea or coffee, only two rolls of toilet paper and you have to make your own beds and strip the bed before departure. They do provide sheets however for $300+ per night I would at least have thought they’d provide beds already made up and a little more toilet paper. It’s these little things that make a big difference.

If you cancel your accommodation the following applies -

1. Bookings cancelled at least 90 days prior to “Guest” arrival date is refundable less a cancellation fee of $100.00.

2. Booking cancelled less than 90 days from “Guest” arrival date are non refundable but the following does apply –

i) if any guest has booked direct with Alloggio Holidays, and request a refund for a booking arrival date inside 90 days, we do not refund but can transfer booking dates or if guests are uncertain of dates we will provide them with an Alloggio Holiday gift voucher to the value of their “Rent” component of the booking.

ii) our fees will be retained however when the guest does utilise the gift voucher the value of rent will be towards whatever the cost of their new booking value is. There will be no booking fees charged on gift voucher bookings as we have already retained the fees.

iii) The voucher will be valid for booking stay dates within three years from date of issue and may be used on any of our Holiday Properties depending on availability.

3. If you shorten your stay, the unused portion of your rental is not refundable.

4. Any Bookings made via an OTA, for example, Stayz, , Airbnb or other booking provider will be subject to the OTA Terms and Conditions.If you cancel any booking made through Stayz, , Airbnb or other booking provider you may be required to pay further fees to those providers pursuant to their cancellation policy.
