Resort style adjoining apartments with views of the wrap around pool

The Location - This modern apartment is located within Pacific Blue Resort at Salamander Bay. Pacific Blue boasts a huge pool that wraps around the resort, day spa, tennis court (BYO rackets), gym and a heated lap pool. All just 400 metres from the Salamander Shopping Centre and a 10 minute drive to Nelson Bay, Anna Bay or Shoal Bay.

The Apartment - Entering in the foyer area to this air conditioned first floor resort style apartment, you'll find doors on either sides for 244A and 244B. You will have full access to both of the apartments.

The first apartment has an open plan living area with a flatscreen TV, leading out to a balcony with outdoor furnishings and over looking the resorts large wrap around pool. There is a dining table with four chairs and a fully equipped kitchen with a full fridge freezer, microwave, oven, dishwasher and bench space. 

The two apartments offer a bedroom each, both fitted with ensuites. Bedroom one has a king size bed (which can be split) and a flatscreen TV. The ensuite offers a shower, corner spa bath, vanity and toilet.

The second apartment is a self contained studio, featuring two king singles (which can be joined). It is fitted with a flatscreen TV, stereo system, dining table and two chairs, plus another table and chairs on a private balcony. There is also a kitchenette with a bar fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and sink and the ensuite offers a shower, vanity and toilet. This studio apartment is not recommended for young children due to the separate entrance, but perfect for young adults, friends or two couples.

The apartment also features an internal laundry with a front load washing machine and dryer. Off street parking for one car and stairs to the apartment. There are definitely smoke alarms at this property.

Decent stay however areas for improvement

The apartment itself is managed by an external agency not the resort. Our issue was we were only given 1 access card, the place was left unlocked/open when we arrived so we only discovered we were supposed to be given a key too as we were locked out the next morning. After back and forth with the agency, we then had to drive back to their office for the key which was an inconvenience when it should’ve been dropped off by the agent as a courtesy to us. There is NO WIFI we knew this when booking as we are happy to use our own data but the location where the apartment is there is absolutely NO RECEPTION and dead spots throughout. This was a nightmare especially with kids and really affected our experience during the stay. Honestly in this day in age FREE WIFI should be a standard! Lastly only 1 fork was given, 4 bags of tea given but only 2 packs of sugar and NO COFFEE satchets, 2 tiny bar soaps were provided and no complimentary travel size shampoo/body wash etc. Look they may be little things but honestly wouldn’t cost the owner that much and I’m sure most hotel travellers would expect these and they are just nice touches to the making the stay more convenient and less stressful, even airbnbs hosts are more generous than this place. For the price we paid I don’t feel it was worth it and encourage the agency to please take note of the little things too! The place was tidy although I question how truly clean the carpets are and frequent dusting/deep vaccuuming be required.

The resort is lovely and great location, the wrap pool such a nice feature but just too cold to swim in Autumn but the lap pool was comfortable for the kids to use at least. I would stay at the resort again but not through the agency rather another apartment booked through the resort instead.

Very Disappointing

dishes/cups stained, unclean. Verandah dust/cobwebs, broken/stuck wooden blinds TV in the main bedroom not working. No restaurant on site. No easy access out of the pool, so disabled, pregnant, and older folks at risk of falling when trying to get out of the pool. The spa on the first day had "slime" on top. Asked for 2 bedrooms for 2 adults and got 1 bedroom with another self-contained unit next to it, so paid $990 for 2 nights! Not given enough keys and when my friend queried that WE had to return to pick up 15 minutes each way, Winnings Holidays snapped at her about her tone!! They did end up delivering keys. Finally, I am not from Seattle but NSW and I would say that sums up your attitude to customer service - no attention or care to details

Worst Holiday

Terrible from start to finish. The room was not what we were told and definitely not the standard that we were expecting. The pool was freezing, the spa was always overcrowded. The people in the resort had no consideration for others loud until all hours of the night. Winnings holidays, didn't give us anything but a key and left us to our devices to figure out where we were going how to get into the resort, where the room was... the list could go on!!! Worst holiday ever!

Never book again

The resort is in a good location. However the appartment is poorly managed. Its dirty in general from the blanket to the carpet. When we moved in, the kitchen bin still full of garbage :( Theres issues with the air conditioner, we called reception, they said they will come up but we waited for 1h no one comes up. We called again they said the property was not managed by them so they cant do anything and asked us to call the agent who managed the property. We called them up they said they can do anything since its out of office hours. So end up we have to sleep with no air con, the night was terrible without air con. Never book though third party again.

Ok location. Rooms were dirty, spa was filthy with a brown ring like it hadn’t been cleaned for a while. It prevented from using it. Carpets dirty and old wrappers and crumbs on the floor.

Great Place but NEVER go via Alloggio

Hotel itself is great place. But i made booking through Alloggio. Third party booking is no good. Alloggio never provide room service. Though i asked hotel staff for some sugar but they can't do much as its third party booking. I will say NEVER go through THIRD PARTY or Alloggio. Directly book from Hotel itself. Hotel is very good, clean and handy.

If you cancel your accommodation the following applies -

1. Bookings cancelled at least 90 days prior to “Guest” arrival date is refundable less a cancellation fee of $100.00.

2. Booking cancelled less than 90 days from “Guest” arrival date are non refundable but the following does apply –

i) if any guest has booked direct with Alloggio Holidays, and request a refund for a booking arrival date inside 90 days, we do not refund but can transfer booking dates or if guests are uncertain of dates we will provide them with an Alloggio Holiday gift voucher to the value of their “Rent” component of the booking.

ii) our fees will be retained however when the guest does utilise the gift voucher the value of rent will be towards whatever the cost of their new booking value is. There will be no booking fees charged on gift voucher bookings as we have already retained the fees.

iii) The voucher will be valid for booking stay dates within three years from date of issue and may be used on any of our Holiday Properties depending on availability.

3. If you shorten your stay, the unused portion of your rental is not refundable.

4. Any Bookings made via an OTA, for example, Stayz, , Airbnb or other booking provider will be subject to the OTA Terms and Conditions.If you cancel any booking made through Stayz, , Airbnb or other booking provider you may be required to pay further fees to those providers pursuant to their cancellation policy.

5. Any costs imposed by any other provider are in addition to any costs imposed by Alloggio Management.
