The Location -The perfect holiday location! Barrington is superbly positioned 150 metres back from the beautiful Shoal Bay Beach and directly behind the Country Club. With clear turquoise waters and white sands it is the holiday destination of a lifetime, offering great swimming and a chance to unwind.Right on your door step you are spoilt with a delicious selection of places to eat and drink along the waterfront, places to hire kayaks, stand up paddle boards (open everyday during the high seasons of school holidays, long weekends and Easter) and bicycles. Also nearby you will find the Tomaree National Park with spectacular views from the top of Tomaree Mountain.Just a 5 minute drive in the opposite direction brings you to Nelson Bay.

The Apartment - This cosy one bedroom apartment features open plan lounge and dining room, with a flat screen TV and offers ducted air conditioning. Glass sliding doors opens out to a generous sized balcony area with outdoor furnishings and overlooks the beautiful waterways of Port Stephens.The well equipped kitchen is fitted with oven, fridge, microwave and dishwasher.

The queen size bedroom also has glass sliding doors to access the balcony and offers water views. The separate bathroom features a shower over the bath, vanity and toilet. The laundry is a shared laundry which is located on level five, the dryer is free and the washer is coin operated (4 x $1 coins). There is lift access to the apartment and parking for one vehicle.

There are definitely smoke alarms at this property.

Soulless Experience

We ended up here because the first apartment we booked through the agent (in an unrelated complex) was a health hazard. So this apartment was never our first choice. That is not the fault of this apartment so I will only review based on this apartment's facilities. It is an indication of lack of care when the room requires you to insert a keycard to switch on the power, but no keycard is provided; or when there is a sign that says for your safety, to avoid slipping, you should use the rubber bathmat provided - but no bathmat is provided; or that all the original curtains and and flyscreens are gone, replaced by a non opaque curtain that is not wide enough for the windows, so that the east facing bedroom is broad daylight from sunrise; or that from the sofa you have no view but that where the TV is on the opposite wall there are extended bay and headland views; or that both the bathroom and kitchen tile floors had an oily residue which was so slippery we had to have the cleaner come and wash them down. A thoroughly soulless experience - Happy Valentines Day dear.

Please except our apologies for any dissatisfaction you experienced during your stay. We have requested new blinds to be fitted for the bedroom and for the irrelevant signs regarding key card and bath mat to be removed. Again our sincere apologies for the inconvenience this has caused.

Great Location

Great location with stunning views of Mount Tomaree and the bay, unit well maintained with everything you need for a getaway. Pity we didn't have access to the pools and spas in the resort.

If you cancel your accommodation the following applies -

1. Bookings cancelled at least 90 days prior to “Guest” arrival date is refundable less a cancellation fee of $100.00.

2. Booking cancelled less than 90 days from “Guest” arrival date are non refundable but the following does apply –

i) if any guest has booked direct with Alloggio Holidays, and request a refund for a booking arrival date inside 90 days, we do not refund but can transfer booking dates or if guests are uncertain of dates we will provide them with an Alloggio Holiday gift voucher to the value of their “Rent” component of the booking.

ii) our fees will be retained however when the guest does utilise the gift voucher the value of rent will be towards whatever the cost of their new booking value is. There will be no booking fees charged on gift voucher bookings as we have already retained the fees.

iii) The voucher will be valid for booking stay dates within three years from date of issue and may be used on any of our Holiday Properties depending on availability.

3. If you shorten your stay, the unused portion of your rental is not refundable.

4. Any Bookings made via an OTA, for example, Stayz, , Airbnb or other booking provider will be subject to the OTA Terms and Conditions.If you cancel any booking made through Stayz, , Airbnb or other booking provider you may be required to pay further fees to those providers pursuant to their cancellation policy.

5. Any costs imposed by any other provider are in addition to any costs imposed by Alloggio Management.
