SURFING PORT STEPHENS | SUP
Stand up paddle surfing (SUP), or stand up paddle boarding, originated in Hawaii as an offshoot of surfing. This increasingly popular water sport has now made its way to Port Stephens. Local tour operators Port Stephens Watersports offer visitors the opportunity to experience this fun activity and are located at both the Nelson Bay Beach and Shoal Bay Beach. There is no need to worry about fitness levels as this sport is great for people of all ages and abilities. Its easier than it looks and it's great exercise offering a fantastic core strength workout. Prices start from $20 for half hour, $30 for 1 Hour, $50 for 2 Hours and $80 for 4 Hours (includes one paddle and leg leash with life jacket optional).
Port Stephens Surf School also offers paddle board lessons on Dutchmans Bay Beach, Nelson Bay. It's excellent for surfers and non-surfers, beginners and advanced, male and female, young and old and everyone in between.
