Little Beach General Information

Little Beach is an ideal family beach setting in Nelson Bay. It sits in a small sheltered bay, and has piers for fishing and boating, barbeque facilities, a children’s' playground, restaurant at one end and a takeaway kiosk at the other. The Western end of Shoal Bay beach faces the Heads with magnificent views, a wide clean beach and sparkling clean swimming waters. The car park is shaded by Eucalypts, and the grassy banks and tables provide a nice picnic area, but beware the Kookaburras who are not shy when it comes to stealing fish and chips. Little Beach has always been a family favourite providing safe swimming and fishing for all. It’s easy to see why families keep returning year after year.

Little Beach Attractions

Exclusive to Little Beach you will find the inner lighthouse which provides you with the early history of the area, days long gone when kerosene lighting flickered and danced across the bay, providing safe passing by early maritime vessels. Discover the maritime Coast Guard and Watch House, dedicated volunteers, protecting the all seafarers who journey through Tomaree Heads. Now if you find all this exhausting, then why not experience the Inner Light Tea House where you can sit back with coffee, cold refreshments and simply relax. Little Beach is located between Nelson Bay and Shoal Bay, therefore, also shares all attractions they have to offer. Dolphin/Whale watching cruisers, boat hire, parasailing and fine dining.

Little Beach Facilities

Little beach boasts something for the boating enthusiasts... a 4 lane all tide boat ramp with fish cleaning tables and loads of trailer parking, plus marina with boats and moorings for hire. A cafe kiosk provides daily newspapers, meals and refreshments and your basic fishing requirements. And for finer dining you can’t ignore C’s Cafe Restaurant.
