DISCOVER FINGAL BAY
Fingal Bay General Information
Discover one of Australia’s best east coast destinations, Fingal Bay. Featured at the end of the Australia Tourism Campaign “Where the Bloody Hell Are You?” Fingal Bay clearly has that postcard appeal. There are many aspects to this patrolled surf beach including: Kiddies Corner, which is ideal for small children to swim and play, a boat ramp to launch your vessel, not to mention the white sandy beach which leads up past the surf lifesaving club through to the famous Fingal “Spit”. The spit can be crossed at low tide (with caution) to view the ruins of the outer lighthouse residence which is located on the far-east side of Fingal Island. Surrounded by National Parkland and with community in mind, Fingal Bay is very appealing to young families and retirees. Watch the whales migrate north from the vantage point at Barry Park or enjoy a picnic BBQ at one of the facilities along the foreshore.
Fingal Bay Attractions
You can set the pace at your own speed when you stay in Fingal Bay. The beach is a great place to spend the day, playing with friends and family. There is enough room to play a game of beach cricket, set up the volley ball net or try your hand at learning to surf. Surf breaking waves run from the surf club through to the spit, with the calmer waters of Kiddies Corner offering a safe place to splash around and cool down over the hot summer months. After you have enjoyed your day at the beach why not discover the Best Host on the Coast, with a beer, wine or bistro meal at the Fingal Bay Sports and Rec Club. Surrounded by National parkland there is an abundance of bush tracks to discover with 20 kilometres of rocky coastline and beaches ideal for bushwalking, swimming, snorkelling, surfing, fishing and picnicking. There is also a cycle path which runs from the Fingal Bay boat ramp through to Shoal Bay
